Pre-Halloween!

So I was going to do one big "Halloween Week" post, but I decided against it. I'll make a separate post about my Halloween later. :) Instead, some updates!

Fall is here!!! One of my favorite things about being a student at BYU is the nature on/surrounding campus. Now, whoever may read this might think, "What? Utah is a desert!" No... ARIZONA is a desert. (Which is where I'm from.) So, yeah! I love the nature here. Second favorite thing, BYU has got to one of the nerdiest/geekiest campuses (which I love and hope to see more evidence of later today). I was walking home from my morning class when I came across this beautiful Sherlock poster. Yes, I love Sherlock. I was unable to see where the QR code led me (as I have a not-so-smart android for a phone), but I secretly hope it goes to this: http://i.minus.com/ibtc6jShAMoNze.gif

Next, remember that update I made about working in the gyms? Well, earlier this week, I got to conquer my slight fear of heights and make the climb up to the four basketball backboards! It's amazing how many smudges basketballs can make.

I sometimes just really love my job. Last night, for our "safety meeting," we watched Paranorman, and I must say, that movie is awesome/adorable!~

Those are my updates for now! Look out for my actual Halloween post! :)

Whaat.

So two things for this fine Sunday...

One, I am officially moved into the gyms with my custodial job! :D
While Most people would probably think, "Whaat? You like cleaning the gyms?" Let's just say... I love cleaning the gyms a lot more than the hallways. I get to ride this cool Zamboni thing half the time and people don't really see where I am... Or in my case, where I'm not. ;)

Second fun thing. I was on Facebook when I saw that my friend's mom had shared Vocal Point's new cover video of Sara Bareilles' "Brave." As I was watching it... I realized that I had seen them filming a part of it on campus, on my way home from class, and didn't realize that it was Vocal Point... Check out the video I'm talking about!

TGIF

What a fabulous Friday it was! There were quite a few things that made me smile!

First: I got to meet up with one of my friends from Arizona! He's heading out to his mission in a month, so I'm glad I got to see him! :)
My dear Native American friend, Zach!

Then, I got a group hug from these lovely people!
I'm totally digging this "Free Hug Friday" thing. If only I was on campus more often on Fridays...

Finally, I got to dog-sit my friend's precious 9 week old Husky.
His name is Odin, and as a college student, pets are hard to find.

To end the evening, I got to hang out with my friend, Doug! I love his company and it was a great night hanging out with him, his roommates, and the grocery store. Let's just say, they may have had me develop an expensive taste for cheese.... No picture of that adventure, unfortunately.... Still fantastic!

In The Mix: resume builder: I know, I know, I've already written a post about my job. But it just offers so much to write on so here I am again. I have realized t...

A Break Much Needed

Let's just say this past week was... rough. All I wanted was a break. Luckily, I got it!
My ward friend/neighbor wanted to get a group together to go to the corn maze on Saturday, but it didn't work out. So we went hiking and it was super fun and totally needed! I was able to just forget my worries and enjoy life for a bit. Thanks, Tim!

Then there was Stake Conference yesterday! It was awesome and I was so glad I attended! (Not that I wouldn't have.)

Adventures at Work

Sometimes I forget why I love my job. Then I remember times like last night's. We played volleyball, had lots of laughs, and let our competitive spirits rage. If only these photos could show all the craziness that happened.

Note: This is posed. I know how to play volleyball.

No Sleep

So sure, I may be in the red zone on my Sim mood bar under "Rest," but I must say, it's nice when things seem to work out alright! I went to the temple last night and was there for 3 hours! I had a ton of homework, and I was rather worried, but felt like I'd be fine as long as I don't regret it. Which I don't. However, I still had to do my part. I needed to be willing to work until my health was in jeopardy (which I'm already sick with a dormant mono, so this is more literal than it may seem).
I got home from the temple, ate (as my roommates don't believe in skipping meals... I skipped lunch today), did homework, went to work, got back at 2am, did homework until about 4 or so, woke up at 9am, did more homework, got ready for school at 11am, and finished my homework between 1pm-2pm. Just in time for my class in half an hour.
Like I said, I may be lacking sleep, but I'm still healthier than I could be, and my homework is complete.
Let me just say, the temple brings blessings! I don't really know what kind, but it's a nice happy thought. :)

Eeriness at Work

So... I work an on campus custodial job from 10:30pm to 1:30am. I also get scared really easily, but this job isn't usually a problem with my fearful personality. Until today. I was wiping down the glass doors. And there are two sets of glass doors at every entrance. I was on the inside side of the outside doors, wheni noticed some smeared fingerprints that wouldn't seem to come off. So I realized that it was on the outside side and moved on. I was wiping one spot and as I pulled away, it read "help" backwards. Let's just say that it terrified me. And went on to tell all of my other coworkers. Hehe

Super Sunday

I may have had an emotional breakdown at a podium in front of 100+ people, but overall, my Sunday was fantastic! I do love Sundays. I don't worry about homework, I socialize with my ward, and I feel the spirit. What more could I ask for?

Well! Today, I got to bear my testimony (thus, the emotional breakdown), got my temple recommend, went to the ward's break the fast (AKA being fed free delicious food in large portions), take a 3 hour nap (I excused myself from work, which I would rather not do; but I happen to be sick again, so I needed that rest), and go to ward prayer where I shared a spiritual thought (3 Nephi 14:7-8, and Enos 1:15), and socialized at some of the ward members' places while delivering nice notes with my roommate.
I would say it was a spiritually productive day!

PS. I keep forgetting to take pictures, as I am a live in the moment type of person, but I will do my best to meet those needs!

The Little Things...

  • Slept all the way through the night (until my 6-year old brother called me in the morning, telling me that I was in his dream)
  • Got an hour of scripture studying with my roommate Charlotte
  • Found out that my 2 hour long evening class ends in November
  • Maybe no homework for me tonight?
    • I sure hope I don't have anything, at least....

I'm done eating candy.

Now... I may be procrastinating my homework a wee bit, but I did a candy bar challenge and now I'm $10 richer! :D

New Blog!

I discovered an old blog that I used to update back in the beginning of high school, and with me updating my sister's mission blog, I thought it'd be fun to get back into blogging! Hopefully this one reflects just a bit of the happiness I find in my life, because there's a lot in life to be happy about!~
(Plus, if I neglect this one for a long period of time, I can just start it back up whenever...)
Let the games begin. >:)
